Allow Me To Introduce Myself…
Hi, thank you all for taking the time to come and have a look at my blog!
I’m Lucy, I am 39 years old and I’m a happily married mum of five! That’s right…… five!
You may think I’m crazy having five kids, but each and every day is fun, loud, different and very relatable! Whether you’re a small family or a large one, I’m sure we’re all going through the same stresses and strains that life throws at us, and I thought it would be worthwhile to write mine down!
A Bit Of History
I met my husband Scott when we were at the sweet age of 16-17 years old. We met when we both got a Saturday job at the same children’s play area. Between the noise and the “policing” of the youngsters, we quickly became friends and then childhood sweethearts! We got married at 21- oh my gosh so young, and in the same year, I qualified as a Dispensing Optician and Scott an accountant.
Fast forward to three years later and we had our first daughter, Olivia, who is now nearly 15! Our other children followed, Josh 12, Charlie 7, Holly 6, and our last baby, Jacob (almost) 3.
Life Now……
Life today has changed a lot, and definitely since we first met! I’m now a stay at home mum (for the time being). I love being at home with them, and despite some days being completely hectic and passing in a blur, I wouldn’t change it. A big part of my decision to start to blog, was to record certain events that I might normally forget about. Treating my blog as though it is a diary of our lives means that hopefully the little things don’t escape me so easily.
My husband Scott remained in accountancy and became partner in his firm. I feel lucky that my husband is able to provide for our large family and I’m able to be the one at home with them.
For the past couple of years, I’ve also been running my own small business from home. I make beautiful handmade children’s clothing, and my business name is Pickles & JJ. I have a huge interest in sewing and the fact that I have so many small people to sew for, really allowed me to practice and become skilled in what I do. Look out for lots of updates and Pickle & JJ articles that I use to showcase my work! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit, and I hope you enjoy reading this blog!
